The Zelda Project: Bringing Hyrule to the Real World
We shine a spotlight on the crafty cosplay project.
Every once in awhile a cosplay comes along that rocks our socks. On even rarer occasions, several of those special cosplays are grouped together for maximum sock rockage. However, even the most rocked of socks aren’t ready for the awesomeness The Zelda Project brings to the table. Masterminded by cosplayer Adella, The Zelda Project boasts a dozen masterful Legend of Zelda cosplayers who take their craft to the next level.
United through a love of cosplay and Ocarina of Time, the project's members seek to recreate the world of Hyrule through a combination of cosplay, photography and effects work, and the results have been staggering. Each and every photo shoot showcases a costume that is perfect down the smallest detail. On top of fantastic costumes, the settings looked like they were ripped directly from the mind of Shigeru Miyamoto himself. We're just glad they chose Ocarina of Time; we don't know if we're ready for a photorealistic Tingle.
More than just breathtaking photo shoots, The Zelda Project is breaking new ground in the cosplay world by releasing a live-action short film. The film brings to life one of the Zelda franchise’s most iconic moments: the final battle between Link and Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time. There’s no set release date for the short film, but if you’re interested in helping out, or if you’d just like to have your mind blown, you can check out The Zelda Project here. Remember: it's dangerous to go cosplay alone, so take a travel-sized sewing kit with you.
