Ride the Dead Waves of Beach Zombies at a Live Rock Show

Jaws will kill everyone at the beach, but this time it's the jaws of zombies.

Zombies have already invaded beaches in throngs and music in songs. Watch Surf II in its entirety on YouTube if you don't believe us. Then listen to Thriller if you've lived in a closet since 1982 (which would make perfect sense if you fear an undead apocalypse). The brains behind Zombie Beach! The Musical want to flesh out this tradition by fusing the Frankie and Annette movies' exciting musical shores and George A. Romero's biting ooze-ical hordes.

The musical follows the story of Freddie and Beebee, two young lovers, who find a lost girl on the beach. Being the summer-fun loving couple they are, they mistake the girl for someone they can hang out/surf with and not for a space being who raises the dead to enslave all humans. It's an innocent but calamitous mistake, like watching Surf II in its entirely on YouTube (instead of owning it on VHS!). The heroes' fate is relayed through the punk-infused surf rock styling of the ZBTM Band.

No Broadway theaters have offered their stages to the show yet, which is weird since zombies are the new cats. While they're waiting for their big shot, you can hear the songs performed at Otto's Shrunken Head on December 21st at 8PM for free! This time of year we're looking for any help pretending we're on a beach, even if all the sunbathers are rotting.
