Only 171 More Days Till Cataclysm!
Five reasons why this fall's expansion is going to rock your WoW
Blizzard's VP of Game
Design Rob Pardo gives us five compelling reasons why all 11.5 million World of Warcraft subscribers are going to love the Cataclysm expansion, which has a rumored U.S. release date of November 1, 2010.
No. 1 WoW is being reinvented from noob-ville forward. “We’ve
gone through every single zone,” Pardo says, “and we’ve tried to bring all the
learning we’ve done through the previous games.”
No. 2 New to the horde: Goblins. “They’re very into
gadgets that don’t always work. They’re one of our comic relief races…they’ve
been in Warcraft but also World of Warcraft for such a long time,
so I think players are really going to enjoy getting to play that race.”
No. 3 Don’t just level up your character, level up your
guild. “We wanted to make it even more fun to be in a guild...as you do things
as a guild, your guild itself actually levels up which will give the guild
benefits.”
No. 4 Goodbye, level 80. Hello, level 85! “We’re adding
new lands, new encounters, new raid zones, and a whole new storyline that ends
up culminating with Deathwing.”
No. 5 Fly. “People are going to get to fly their flying mounts over old
Azeroth…I’ll bet you that one gets more cheers than the other four I just
droned on about.”
