Holiday Jeer!

The former stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 bring joy to the world—and your local theater

The disappointing thing about the holidays is that there just isn’t enough heckling. You’re really gonna let Santa get away with being that fat and not say anything?

Thankfully, the former jokesters of Mystery Science Theater 3000 will be making this Christmas extra merry with Rifftrax: Christmas Shorts-Stravaganza! Rifftrax is the movie-mocking consortium set up by Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy (aka Tom Servo) and Bill Corbett (aka Crow T. Robot) in their post-MST3K days. Normally, the group sells MP3s of their riffs that can be played in sync with the DVDs of the movies they’re mocking. But in a special event tonight and tomorrow night only, they’ll be hitting local movie theaters with a zing-laden Christmas special. The program will feature, and we quote, “a collection of brand new and old favorite shorts including the bizarre animated ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,’ classic commercials and a musical short extolling the virtues of pork.” As if that wasn’t reason enough to attend, the show will also feature special guest riffer Weird Al Yankovic!

Check here to find what theaters near you will be playing the shorts. And remember, the films will only appear for two nights. But really, that’s not bad, considering Santa only appears for one night. That fattie.
