Halo Dollies

MacFarlane Halo Toys "Reach" For A New Level Of Awesome

Say you’re Todd McFarlane. You’ve realized the hard way that nobody wants to buy multiple Jake Gyllenhaal figures. Time to celebrate the fact that the new Halo game, Reach, is coming out. You can expand your most successful toyline. No, not Spawn. That was soooo ten years ago.

McFarlane Toys has already announced a few new figures and accessories to be included in this new Halo line, such as needle rifles and jetpacks. Our friends at ToyFare magazine got the scoop on even more goodies for the cover story of Issue 159, on stands now. Most notably, Todd plans to finally take advantage of the figures’ size by making vehicles. He told ToyFare: “We’ve got the Warthog and the Ghost coming out. The Warthog is really big, even given our scale. We’re also looking at the Pelican—can we make the Pelican and do it at a price that makes any kind of sense? So we’re working on those.”

If he can manage the giant dropship, Hasbro’s new AT-AT had better start looking up. Because as Todd, ever sensitive to scale, takes pains to point out, even his mini-Spartans (and their vehicles) are “a little bigger than some of the other stuff out there. We didn’t want to go G.I. Joe size. We thought it was a little bit too small.” Oh, Todd. It’s not the size of your plasma cannon that counts, but how you wield it...

Pick up Issue 159 of ToyFare at your favorite comic store today, or go whole Warthog and subscribe for the best toy news on the planet.
