Nerdbytes: Ghosts Next Door and Mutants in Time

A new Just Cos, behind-the-scenes puppetry and a Legend of Zelda giveaway!

We've got a Paranormal Activity 4 prize package and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia to give away, plus a new Just Cos gets closer to Chloe Dykstra, a look at the making of Neil's Puppet Dreams' title sequence and more X-Men actors return for Days of Future Past. It's Nerdbytes and it's right now!

Next to Paranormal - The fourth entry into the popular Paranormal Activity series of found-footage horror movies returns to the present as a suburban family with kids who use webcams all the time take in a young neighbor boy who is, let's face it, haunted. Creepy, terrifying children are creepy and terrifying. If you're interested in winning the Blu-ray/DVD combo of the movie, along with a heap of tools to help you ward off the ectoplasmic, enter our Paranormal Activity 4 Prize Package giveaway, and visit our Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ pages for extra chances to win. Be prepared or be scared.

Chloe Raids NYCC - Get to know a little bit more about host Chloe Dykstra and her cosplaying preparation in a brand new episode of the Nerdist Channel's show, Just Cos. At last year's New York Comic Con, Chloe cosplayed as Lara Croft from the brand new Tomb Raider game, complete with dirt, wounds and general unkemptness, which, you'll find, takes a lot longer to accrue than actually getting hurt and dirty. What happens when Chloe meets another Lara Croft on the convention floor? It's a battle of the Crofts and the winner is you.

Hyrule Hysteria - Nintendo and Dark Horse just have released the long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, a massive omnibus celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the beloved video game franchise. The tome contains a cucco's nest of Link-related information such as a comprehensive timeline, the evolution of characters, concept art and even a prequel Manga to Skyward Sword. If you enter our Hyrule Historia contest, you'll be able to win a copy of your very own! Also be sure to head to our Facebook, Google+ and Twitter pages for more entries because after February 5th, 2013, you'll have to quest for one yourself.

Mutants Once More - Director Bryan Singer, who directed the first two X-Men films and is now directing the newest installment, X-Men: Days of Future Past, has already announced that the new film, based on the comic storyline from the early '80s, would see the return of Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman, as well as X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. Singer has now released the news that former X-players Ellen Page, Anna Paquin and Shawn Ashmore will join the cast playing Shadowcat, Rogue and Iceman, respectively . This is shaping up to be one truly uncanny group of actors and we're getting evermore excited to see how it all comes together.

Inside Neil's Brain - Neil's Puppet Dreams might have just wrapped-up its first season, but over on the Nerdist Channel, there's some behind-the-scenes magic for you to enjoy. You probably never thought about all the work that went into making the title sequence, which travels through the felt-filled brain of Neil Patrick Harris, but it's pretty staggering. The short video by Digital Twigs, set to a jaunty tune by Delicate Steve, takes you through the process from animatic, to filming, all the way to finished product. Believe it or not, the camera crew did not actually film the inside of Neil's brain. Sorry to ruin your puppet dream.
