Geek This Week: Girl Powers!

Girls Gone Wired - When many people think of comic and sci-fi conventions, they envision sweaty, overweight masses of misplaced masculinity. Geek Girl Con, running this weekend in Seattle, hopes to change all that. Guys are welcome, but for the love of all that is sacred, don't forget the deodorant this time.
Anyway, how's your Xbox? - When you're famous for having made the most hilariously misfiring movie of all time, it can be hard to use your "celebrity" to get more work. But Tommy Wiseau has finally found a new and unlikely gig as a video-game reviewer for Machinima's new "Tommy Wi-Show." The awkward auteur is only slightly less skilled with a controller than he is with the English language. Which, of course, is the appeal.
Scrappy Metal - Since it was announced, the movie Real Steel has been jokingly compared to a certain classic plaything by almost everyone. In fact, it's based on the same story as an old Twilight Zone tale, and early reviews suggest it's more Rocky than Rock 'Em Sock 'Em. Find out for yourself starting Friday.
Arts & Crofts - In celebration of Tomb Raider's 15th anniversary, Crystal Dynamics is hosting a month-long digital gallery of Lara Croft-inspired artwork. She may have gotten "downsized" over the years, but our favorite double-X chromosomed Indiana Jones wannabe is still big with gamers. Still, shame on you for ogling a 15 year-old.
