Faraway, So Close: Complete Farscape Now on Blu-ray

Sink your Talyns into some high-definition Henson.

Finding the right holiday gift for the geek on your list can be as challenging as finding that wormhole back home in a near-infinite galaxy of strangeness. Fortunately, today sees the release of a brand-new set so hot it could melt a Sebacean's mind. At long last, Farscape: The Complete Series comes to Blu-ray full of archival documentaries, commentaries, deleted and extended scenes, interviews and the much-requested special Farscape Undressed. Our voices haven't hit this giddy a squeal since the last time Rygel flatulated helium.

Created by sci-fi guru Rockne S. O'Bannon (SeaQuest DSV, Alien Nation) and featuring creative and occasionally disturbing effects by the Jim Henson Company, Farscape isn't one of those shows you can just pick up in the middle, as it features a massive, multi-year story arc with major characters coming and going, while others change dramatically over the course of the series. Don't be misled by the Henson name -- of course the puppets and make-up are top-notch, but innuendos and the odd dismemberment make this one series where parental guidance is strongly advised.

We don't yet have the technology to implant the whole series into a chip in your brain, but as far as human technology goes, Blu-ray can't be beat. So pick up the set today, put aside a couple hundred hours...and you may find getting lost in a weird universe is a lot more comfortable than you'd imagine.
